Gates chained on estate play park that’s still unopen EIGHT years after first families moved in

A Yarm estate’s playpark still remains unopen eight years after the first families moved in.

When residents settled into their luxury new-build homes on the sought-after Morley Carr development, a bowling green and play areas were among the novelties lined up for the Taylor Wimpey site. However, eight years on, the bowling green and play park remain unopened and are currently locked by a chain.

The developer – which previously told Teesside Live in August that the park and cycle path was expected to be completed within the next three to six months – has now confirmed it will open after a handover to the development management company. This is expected to take place this month.
