The delightful café right next to a prison where inmates wash your car as you eat lunch

Having lunch at a café right next to a prison maybe off-putting for many however, others maybe keen to enjoy a bite while imagining what life is like on the inside.

Next to HMP Kirklevington Grange’s high wire fences is a delightful little café run by inmates of the Yarm open prison. The café comprises of two dining rooms and a meeting room.

Keen to put the eatery to the test, Yorkshire Live tourism writer Dave Himelfield dropped in for a spot of lunch. Here is what he had to say in his own words.
